I've Been Busy (featuring Lucy's Kimono)

Busy turning this

into this

And these

Into this

And, finally, into this

Yes, I've been very busy. Today was my second straight weekend of helping host baby showers! These two items were for a baby girl who is expected at the end of July. The kimono is from Heather Ross's Weekend Sewing, it's the Lucy's Kimono pattern (hence the title). I am worn out after several late nights of sewing. I am ready to go to bed early tonight and maybe watch some Cars :) Hope you're having a good weekend.

Holy cow!! I didn't know you could do flowers! I'm so glad you kept that a secret the other night...it was a great surprise!! That little hat is so a amazing. I know baby's Mommy loved it!

And you know how I love the kimono! The fabric is great!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments! I know black, white and red are not "baby" colors, but the infamous "they" say those are the colors babies see best. Plus, why not break away from the norm? make a little elegant kimono, right?

Mel- I knew that I wanted to do flowers, but I was still probably looking for a pattern for them when you all were here. Actually, my MIL asked recently if I'd been able to use a knitting book she gave me for Christmas. I decided to take another look in it, and low and behold, exactly the flowers I was looking for with instructions! Also, you know I was working on that the night before the shower. I'm nothing if not consistently procrastinating :)
